GAS PUMP LITERATURE

TOKHEIM 39-NAP TALL

HOW TO IDENTIFY A TOKHEIM 39

Basically there are only two different Tokheim 39s, the tall version and the short version.

But... the tall version comes two ways:
1.  Ad glass at the top of the pump
2.  No ad glass at the top of the pump, sight glass higher.

And...the short version comes two different ways, these versions differed
mainly in the type of door they had.
1.  The first short 39 to be introduced was the version whose Model Number
had an L after the 39.  These included the 39L-RA, 39L-EZ, 39-RP, 39-L-EP and
the 38L-HR.  These had a door where the face bezel protruded from the door and
the door was on hinges.  If the door had ad glasses, the Model Number was
usually followed with a "P."
2.  The second version of the the short 39 had doors where the glass was held
in by a piece of rubber that ran completely around the glass.  These doors
were not hinged, they had a lock at the bottom and lifted off.  Again, if the
Model Number ended in a P, this indicated the pump had ad glass panels.
This version included the 39-A, 39-B, the 39A-1 was the twin.
